Call in to speak with the host
Lauren Housely of wedding-planning firm Ryan Alexander Events has some noteworthy advice for keeping family dramas to a minimum at the reception. “The first thing is communication. Not so much talking about your expectations for the wedding. But more so your personal expecations of various family members,” she tells The Wedding 101 Show host David Rothstein. “It’s a hard conversation, but everyone needs to sit down and have it. I always ask my clients, ‘Is there any guest who’s having problems with another guest, or anyone we need to keep an eye on?’ If you don’y have these conversations, some guests may come in with their own agendas and that’s going to put a damper on the wedding as a whole.”
