In honor of Black History Month, Travel'n On will explore and celebrate the Gullah culture around the South Carolina Lowcountry with entertainer Marlena Smalls and South Carolina tourism. Then, on January 31, 1962, nine college freshmen and a civil rights activist carried out a sit-in at McCrory's dime store's "whites only" lunch counter in downtown Rock Hill, SC. We will talk about the restoration of the "Friendship Nine" state historical marker with a representative from the Friendship Nine project and the Culture & Heritage Museums.
