Where it used to be browser versus browser vying to win the hearts and souls of web surfers, the Browser War has taken a turn for the worse since the EU has fined Microsoft $732 million. This wasn't the first time that the EU has fired a shot across Microsoft's bows. Back in 2009, after much saber rattling, Microsoft agreed to provide Europeans with a choice of browsers for those who used their operating system, which commands 90% of the market. Of course Microsoft isn't the only company being sued. A law firm recently announced that they are planning to sue Google over tracking used to monitor browsing habits. Meanwhile, the two companies continue to throw barbs at each other, such as Microsoft's caling Google's paid shopping system that was launched close to Christmas "Scroogle." So if you are using either IE or Chrome to surf the web, this is one episode you won't want to miss.
