Mainland China recently got its hands caught in the cookie jar when it was reported that the state was funding sophisticated hacking units whose sole purpose was to steal secrets from US companies. This comes shortly after a spree of high-profile hacks against the Federal Reserve, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Twitter, Facebook and, most recently, Apple. Worst of all, according to the US Srcret Service, many of the targets were small businesses with less than 100 employees. This is especially troubling since most small businesses are woefully incapable of defending their online assets against a concerted hack attack. In this episode we will look at what every business needs to do in order to keep from being blindsided from ever more sophisticated hacking in an all-too-connected world.
