Job search is difficult. You need to write out a plan for job search to achieve the success you desire. Lots of things must be accomplished to find a job. You can "not" do these things and you will definitely extend your job search. You can do these things and set targeted times to complete specific task and increase your job finding possibilities in a timely manner.
One thing that is very important that most people fail to do when they are unemployed is very common. What do you think it is? If you failed to say networking then you are wrong. Networking is the best thing to have on your daily job finding plan. Another thing most people leave out of their job finding plan is a schedule of personal matters. Once you are unemployed there are errands for self and others that most job seekers fail to include in their daily schedule.
If it has to be done include it in your daily job finding plan. Whether its taking clothes to laundry, cooking a meal, finding enough money to make it through the week, include it on your daily plan.
Most job seekers fail to include a journal of contacts and followups as part of their job finding plan. A journal tracks where you went, who you saw, results, and your feelings about the contact. Keep notes and you do followups 2-3 days later at most. A journal of contacts and followups out performs thoughts in your head. Remember this!
Back to networking. Go to bed knowing who you will be contacting tomorrow. Network with people you have nothing in common with. Network with people like you in many ways. Network when you happen upon a group of people. Network on line. Network with people you admire and have things in common when you was working.
Write out a job search plan and it will get you working in weeks rather than months. And keep in mind, personality sells.
