You have a desire for a specific job and you should be seaching in specific industries.  Reality is that job might not be in your near future. You might be going about job search wrong. The job you desire may no longer exist in your area. You have to be informed when you decide what job you want to have. Search labor market information and identify  industries making money/hiring in your city.  Contact the Chamber of Commerce in your city. Your money situation determines how long you can afford to job search for sure. Quick Facts Census is a great way to know the industries making the most money. Go to the site. Select your state.  Select your city,  find industry in the columns. Look at numbers to identify the largest industry. Top right hand corner click on "browse data".  Then click on economic statistics.  Find the industry and occupations on this chart
