You must have a plan to achieve any goals, and especially work goals. Once you organize your goals, you then must determine the steps to reach those goals. Give yourself target dates in your plan for each goal. Identify each goal as short term or long term, and list a target date for each goal. To reach these goals you then must take the necessary actions. Everything you do now should be beneficial to you reaching your goals. If the activity you do is a factor that could interfer with your goal, scrap that activity. Sourround yourself with people who inspire you in some manner. Talking to others about our dreams and goals can be a little uncomfortable. You might even be embarrassed to share your work dreams with people, even with people you love the most. The reality is we cannot allow others to decide what we should or shouldn't dream about. Dreaming is not a team sport. Therefore you should pursue your dream goals. Ask for help, find people who can help, and keep the faith. Talk about your plans. Talking to total strangers is a good part of the plan. You need to hear your dream thoughts and goals. Talk about what you look forward to along the way, and what you expect the end results to be. Ask those who care about you to be understanding, and supportive. And listen to feedback. Ask yourself, this one question, "what would Oprah do"? Plan fun and excitement into your agenda. When you are doing what you want to do, and having fun, you will stay encouraged as you are traveling through these new times and new experiences. Your work for life needs a plan. It might take several plans. Just know that you can, and you will find (work) a way.
