This Election Cycle

So now we have Joe Biden as the O man's VP pick and he is certainly no friend to the unborn but that is not what I want to talk about.

Who are our candidates this year?

John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Barak Obama and now, Joe Biden. Anyone notice anything odd about this line up?

They are all Senators. What is the problem with that you might ask and I'm going to tell you.
Americans typically like to see Governors in this role and not our representatives, who I might add, know whats good for us better than we do.

What troubles me most about senators becoming presidential candidates is that it turns the senate into a stepping stone for the office of president of the United States of America.

If this practice becomes accepted practice, I fear is that the senate could end up choosing who our president will be side stepping the nomination process altogether.

    House Republicans

The net is all abuzz with the new tea party being held by the House Republicans, story broke by Eeevil Conservative on Free Republic and carried forward to BlogTalkRadio last week.

My hats off to these representatives.

It is good that there are some of our representatives are showing some intestinal fortitude against the the status quo.

Its not clear to me at this time what the the long term ramifications will be, if any, so I will follow this closely.

I would like to see more of our representatives behave in this manner.
