    California Proposition Roundup

Jared's personal blog roundup of the 2008 California Propositions was one of the hottest blogs on the WordPress blogging system this week. As this hot political season winds down, Jared and Dean recap the California ballot measures and chime in about what is next for some of these measures on Saturday's show.

When will we have the bullet train? Does this put California into serious deeper debt problems? Are food prices going to increase for California meats because of Proposition 2 by 25% as some people claim? Are we all going to be stuck eating meat from Mexico? Did the children's hospitals really need the additional funds?

Of course, we'll cover the big one, Proposition 8. Is it even a matter of *IF* the proposition will be thrown out by the California Supreme Court or the state legislature? Proposition 8 is LONG from over. California still needs to reconcile passing the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution by a 2/3 majority vote but passing Proposition by only a 52.5% vote. Since the two conflict with each other and the California Constitution states that when two amendment conflict, the one with the higher vote prevails, Proposition 8 is invalidated by the 14th Amendment passing in 1959. How are Pro-8 folks going to take this?
