  PULLING DOWN STRONGHOLDS...(Spiritual Warfare)
  

  Most scripture reading tody is taken from the (New King James Version) and some from the (amplified bible).   Today’s teaching is very important, you can use it for yourself, your family and even to minister to others, especially those struggling in their walk with God.

   

   

  Most of us have come to Jesus from various backgrounds, and have different struggles in life.  For some harder, some tragic, some chronic and some addictions.  But in and with and through Christ Jesus we are more than conquerors and victorious.  So let’s gird ourselves with great faith as we proceed.  Glory to God!
  

   

   

  
  Let us Pray:  Gracious, Heavenly Father, we are honoured to come in Your presence in the mighty name of Jesus and call you Lord of lords and King of kings.  We adore and worship you today as we study Your Word which is sharper than any two edged sword and will never return void.  We come under the Blood of Jesus Christ and ask Your Holy Spirit to minister to us.  We release warrior angels all about us, our loved ones and around the Body of Christ.  Open the hearts and minds of Your people now Lord and set Your Bride Free in Jesus majestic name.  Amen!
  
  The most common questions Christians or Believers ask when we talk about the supernatural are;
  
  §  What are ‘Strongholds?
  §  Where do ‘hereditary’ spirits come from?
  §  Do Generational curses affect us?
  §  Do you believe in transfers?   Transfer of spirit?
  
  How do we battle and be free from "Demonic Strongholds’?  How do we make Jesus Christ our Stronghold, a strong tower we can always run to.  The bibles says;   Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have for gotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”
  
  How do you know when you have a sinful or demonic stronghold? Just ask yourself: to whom or what do you FLEE to when trouble strikes? When stress presses you down?  Do your thoughts immediately run to ‘man-made’ towers? How do you handle distress? Do you medicate yourself with sinful practices or addictions?  Or do you run to the NAME of the LORD?  Whatever you flee to may not necessarily be evil, but whatever you do that keeps you from Jesus Christ and from being victorious, is your ‘True stronghold’. And so we need to face our enemy and tear down everything that keeps us from our blessing and living a victorious life as a Believer.
  
  What is a ‘Stronghold’?   It means - a fort or fortress; a strong tower; fortified place; a place of security.  ‘Demonic Strongholds’ are negative thinking based on lies and deception.  Deception is one of the primary weapons of the devil and are  building blocks of strongholds.  This keeps us away from God’s best. 
  
  One of the major "strongholds" of Satan in the church is that "Christians believe they cannot have demons.” This lie keeps the Children of God from being set free.  Satan has placed his demons of fear, unbelief, religion, pride, divination, witchcraft around the churches as a strong city, fortress, tower, and rock, to keep the truth of deliverance out of the church...even from generations.  Some of our fore-fathers have carried on and even died with this lie. These "strongholds" must be destroyed and brought down in the name of Yeshua, JESUS Christ.

  There are ‘two’ very destructive and common strongholds

  1) When you see God incorrectly:   People have an incorrect image of God; who God is and how He sees you.  They live with an unhealthy fear of God; the enemy wants us to see God as cruel, cold, distant, and waiting to whip us the moment we step out of line which is not true.  There is a good fear of God; in reverence, which is a holy respect for Him.
  

  
  2) When you see yourself incorrectly, inadequate, not worthy: People who suffer from this have a hard time seeing the new person that they are now in Christ Jesus, and often suffer from low self-esteem.  They don’t understand what Christ did for them on the cross.  They lack spiritual confidence that we are supposed to have in Jesus (they feel like sinners all the time and not saints).   John 8:31-32 “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.  And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”  And again in Hosea 4:6 it says; “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. So we need to study and KNOW what the Word of God is saying about God’s Children who believe in His name.
  

  
  All believers are in a war - a war with their adversary, the Devil.  1 Peter 5:8 - Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."  The evil characteristics of Satan is to “kill, steal, and destroy" (John 10:10).
  

  
  "Strongholds" are "strong demon activity," but is merely a "strong" influence or grip, persistent oppression, obsessions, hindrances or harassment. Believers cannot be demon possessed because of the Holy Spirit in them, but many Christians are the victims of Satan's Strongholds.
  

  
  There are mainly two types of Strongholds:
  1) The Lord Jesus Christ is our “Stronghold” over Satan and the demons.  Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous run into it, and are safe.”
  

  
  2) Strongholds of Satan and demons over mankind.  This is what has to be demolished and destroyed in Jesus name. Many believers drag along from day to day with sick bodies, struggling with poverty, lack, fear, grief, addictions, repeated sins and so on.  But once we are ‘Born Again’ and filled with the Holy Spirit, we have the authority to be more than over- comers and conquerors.  Amen!

  2 Corinthians 10:3-6   “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in (through the indwelling presence of) God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”

  Now we don’t fight Satan by fighting in the flesh;  (what I mean is by shouting, screaming and sweating or even by putting up a fight with the devil.....calling him names and daring him... we cannot fight the Satanic spiritual forces in the flesh.  Remember he is already defeated by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross.  James 4:7 - Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.  We fight him by seeking, submitting and coming closer to God.  Hallelujah!
  

  
  First step in getting rid of Satanic strongholds is to make sure Jesus is your stronghold. That He is your first and greatest love; He has your affections and your worship. Make sure the doors are closed to Satan but wide open to God.

  Secondly, seek the Lord and examine yourself as to where you have open doors in your life.  Make a check list.  See if they are repeated sins, sicknesses, tragedies or habits that have been passed down even from generations. Exodus 34:6-7 "And the LORD passed before him (Moses) and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”  

  Saying that, we see it is possible that many spiritual strongholds are passed on from generation to generation.  Many times we resemble our parents, grand-parents and other relatives in the flesh.  If you remember even the family doctor will ask you about your medical history.  Likewise it is possible to have transfers, hereditary and generational curses; ailments, addictions, sexual immorality, bad habits passed down the family line from 3^rd and 4^th generations even far back.

  Thirdly, examine all the areas of bondage and why you are in bondage.  Are you living a blessed life or a cursed life and why?  Deuteronomy 11:26-28  "See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse - the blessing if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today; the curse if you disobey the commands of the Lord your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known."  We need to confess the sins of our forefathers and break the curses in Jesus name.
  

  
  KNOW YOUR AUTHORITY and take your authority in the name of Jesus:
  

  Jesus told us in Luke 10:19 (Amplified Bible) "Behold, I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you."
  
  Mark 16:17-20 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons;......
  
  Ephesians 6:10-13   Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
  

  When you are Born Again as a Christian, a Believer, a true worshipper of JESUS the Holy Spirit comes to abide in your SPIRIT.   So a Christian CANNOT be demon possessed.  BUT know this that man is made up of:
  

  A BODY, a SOUL and a SPIRIT: 
  
  The BODY is the flesh which is subject to decay and dying daily as we advance in years.
  
  The SOUL is your MIND, WILL and EMOTIONS.  This is where bad temper, fear, pride are stored up and is demonic.  Is there mental illness in your family background?  Do you have trouble serving God? Do you have problems with bad thoughts? Sexual problems?  That is a demon(s) in your mind, will or emotions...  

  
  The SPIRIT is the breath of God in you.  -  Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
  

  
  Once you are born again, demons cannot get into your SPIRIT, but, the demons can affect your spirit if you allow them.
  

  
  Are you looking for a Miracle today? Do you want to be free from ‘demonic Strongholds’?  In Mark 9:39, Jesus calls 'Deliverance' a Miracle. Get your Miracle today!
  

  
  Matthew 15:26 and Mark 7:27, Jesus says that 'Deliverance' is THE CHILDREN'S BREAD. The term "Christian" did not exist in the bible while Jesus walked the earth. "THE CHILDREN" were Believers. Jesus cast demons out of Believers. Are you a "child of God"?
  

  
  All Believers have Authority over the Devil.  Jesus said, "In My name they will cast out demons..." (Mark 16:17).  Hallelujah!  So know your authority and get bold in Christ Jesus.
  

  
  An email I received from a Pastor friend:  He goes on to share what happened in a marriage counselling session.
  

  
  Quote:  “I want to share something to you that may help the Body of Christ. We recently had a teaching that talked about Generational Curses.  Now we discovered that anger, bitterness, alcoholism which we too struggled with, went as far back from my Grandparents, who were bitter, harsh, angry, domineering, controlling and all these things have been handed down to my father, to me and to my children.   Premarital Sex, Adultery, Rebellion was a repeat from four generations back. So it’s no surprise that it was brought into our marriage.  Examining a family history, we saw how my grand-father was an alcoholic, I was a drug addict and alcoholic and it was handed down to my children, That's why when you get depressed, automatically you want to run to a drink to ease the stress, instead of standing on God's Word, He will keep us in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon him!
  

  
  It makes a lot of sense to sit down and list the sins that you struggle with and go down the family tree and see where it all comes from. Then when you see its origins, search out scriptures that come against them. Ask God for Forgiveness from a Sincere HEART not the head and allow Him to break those generation curses in your lives one by one.  If you have a pattern of "DRINKING" to relieve Stress, it’s Bondage that needs to be broken by the Blood of Jesus! "WHEN YOU TOTALLY SURRENDER TO GOD, YOU WILL BE HEALED!"  There is other patterns example; miscarriages, early deaths, cancer, suicide, incest, sexual abuse, drug abuse and so on...then break them one by one in Jesus name.”  Unquote.
  
  

  Let's Pray: "Father, in the Name of Jesus by the Authority of your Word, I rebuke family curses. I break every demonic hold on lives by the Blood of Jesus Christ and I COMMAND YOU DEVIL to LOOSE your HOLD off God's Property our families in JESUS' NAME! I LOOSE the POWER of HOLY GHOST CONVICTION from this day that SIN will not be satisfying, but repulsive!  I pull down all strongholds, ancestral and generational curses in the name of Jesus and break it at the roots from 10 generations up to 10 generations down.  I speak liberty and freedom to your children now and sanctify everyone with the Blood of Jesus.  Thank you for the victory Lord in Jesus name.  AMEN!
