Victoria Rowell, who won our hearts as Drucilla on Young And The Restless, and who now is a celebrated author, will be joining us on Worth Reading to discuss her hit book, "Secrets Of A Soap Opera Diva"! Ms. Rowell has also penned her memoir, titled "The Women Who Raised Me". A staunch supporter of Foster Children, Ms. Rowell is an actress, author, and role model for all! Born in Portland, Maine, Rowell was raised in foster care for 18 years. She trained as a dancer for eight years before turning professional and dancing with various companies, including the American Ballet Theater (ABT) II and the Twyla Tharp Workshop. After dancing, she pursued a career in modeling and graced the pages of Seventeen and Mademoiselle magazines. Modeling led to acting - and her big break came when she landed a re-occurring role on NBC's highly-rated "The Cosby Show." Rowell is more than just a pretty face. She is a survivor! Rowell beat the odds - growing up in a foster care system to launching a career as a dancer, model and actress to lobbying on Capitol Hill about issues concerning foster children. Her philanthropic interests rest on foster children and adoption, and having spent eighteen years in foster care, Rowell became a passionate voice for children like herself. In 1990, she founded the Rowell Foster Children's Positive Plan, which enriches foster children through artistic expression.Join our WOTM Worth Reading host Shennice Cleckley, and WOTM Founder Leslie Harris, as we welcome Ms. Victoria Rowell to the show!!!
