National Women's Law CenterWe gained a hard-earned victory!
Yesterday, with a vote of 247 to 178, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Paycheck Fairness Act. This bill would update and strengthen the Equal Pay Act of 1963, closing loopholes and improving the law’s effectiveness.
Please check to see how your Representative voted on this bill. Then, give them a call at (202) 224-3121. It’s important for your Representative to know that you are paying attention to these key votes.
If your Representative voted YES:
Call (202) 224-3121. The Capitol operator will connect you to your Representative’s office. Please tell the person who answers the phone in your Representative’s office the following:
1. I am a constituent. My name is ________.
2. I would like to thank the Representative for voting in support of the Paycheck Fairness Act.
3. I look forward to your continuing support in the battle for fair pay.
If your Representative voted NO:
2. I am disappointed that the Representative voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act.
3. I hope that you will reconsider your position when other fair pay legislation comes to the floor.Find out how your Representative voted.
Thanks again for all your support in this effort. The battle for fair pay continues, and we will be in touch.
Sincerely,
