Women In Transition - The First Show

    Hello and welcome,

I am Afsaneh Noori, the 2008-09 Chair for Florida Federation of Business and Professional Women’s (BPW/FL) “Women in Transition” (WIT) committee. BPW/FL’s mission is to achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information. Our goal is to be the leading advocate for working women.

The specific goals of the “Women in Transition” for the 2008-09 year are:

    1.
Expand the definition of the “WIT” to include all types of transitions for women such as career change, retirement, leaving the military, layoffs, loss, marriage, divorce, children, empty nest, illness and relocation.

    2.
Offer women in any transition, tools and support in making change work for them.

“Women in Transition – BPW/FL” radio program on Blog Talk radio is a new service to our membership. The purpose of this radio program and the material on the site is to offer women in transition tools and resources to thrive in change. We aim to create an educational and fun program with timely information centered on the needs of women. Each show will have a theme about a different aspect of change.

My co-host and producer is Magda Santos. We plan to interview experts as well as BPW women who have made successful transitions. We will also offer you tips, resources and inspirational quotes as well as a segment to answer your questions.

The program will air on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 pm beginning on July 7, 2008.

To learn more about BPW, you may visit the Florida website at http://www.bpwfl.org/ or the national website at http://www.bpwusa.org. We hope that you visit us regularly and let everyone in your circle know about this service.
