In an eleventh-hour attack on women’s health, the Bush administration plans to propose a damaging rule that threatens women’s access to reproductive health services and information, including some of the most commonly used forms of birth control. The planned rule would allow covered doctors, nurses, and other health care providers to simply refuse to perform any health care service they deem morally objectionable — no matter how central to their job or to the health of the woman needing these services. The National Women’s Law Center is launching a vigorous campaign to protect women’s health, and we need your help. You can start by urging your Members of Congress to take action to stop the Bush administration from issuing this proposed rule.

Our current health care system fails to meet the basic needs of far too many women — and low-income women and women of color are especially at risk. The Center has joined the steering committee of an unprecedented national effort, Health Care for America Now, and we hope you'll join us in this campaign. Tell us — which side are you on? Are you for guaranteed quality, affordable care all women can count on?
