When is the last time you where in touch with the real you?
I am not talking about the mother in you, not the businessperson, not the wife or daughter, but the core of who you are. I am talking about the real you, your essence, your soul, your total being.
In this modern age, women have set out to have it all, making “multi-tasking” the latest art form. However, approach that have been adapted, women are forgetting the nurturing that is needed for personal definement and growth.
Each of us are unique individuals, each brings something to this world that no one else can. However, our uniqueness and gifts to the world go untapped as we let the busyness of life takes over, allowing ourselves to be torn between our responsibly to others and the inherit responsibility that we have to foster our own self.
When was the last time you invested in who you are or who you want to be?
Carrie guided us all through a wonderful Guided Imagery Exercise that can be an important tool to connecting with your inner self.

I have found over the years that no one in the world is more critical of me than me. It always seems that internally we are judging and talking to ourselves more harshly than the feedback we get from others. My inner critic often demands perfection , which would cause me to edit, re-do, and doubt my original efforts. Even though I always get tons of positive feedback from others, my inner critic can pick anything that I do apart in seconds Are you your own worst critic?
What makes us tear our own selves down with internal criticism?
My guest Heidi Richards, founder and chief visionary of the WECAI network. We talked about how to tame your inner critic. Here are some tips to help you with your inner critic:

This was a FABULOUS show. Business Catalyst Jenn Givler from JGivler Coaching joined me today to talk about how to stay positive in our too often negative world! We have to come to the awareness of the infinite pairing of opposites keeping the universe going - birth and death, joy and sorrow, celebration and tragedy, and the list goes on. During our lifetime we will see tragedy, we will know sorrow, we will feel regret; it is not a question that negative things will come into our lives. The key is our ability to deal and rebound from the negativity going on in our lives, and in the world around us.
We do not have to let the disheartening news from the world shade our perceptions. When we focus on the positive, we can help ourselves from falling into the darkness. Be grateful for the all the positives in your life. Hold tight to what you are grateful for because it will help you get through the doom and gloom the world portrays.

It was a fantastic show! My guest Katherine Reschke from Better Parenting Coach and I talked about the power of the word "no". We discussed reasons for not being able to say "no", setting priorities and boundaries, and the benefits of taking control of your time. “No” is a simple word, but often the hardest to say. What makes us incapable of saying “no” to people and situations? Take a moment and think about your life… Do you feel compelled to say “yes”, even when you need to say “no”? It is commonplace for women to take care of everyone but themselves, leaving a void in their lives. As we go down the path of doing for others, with little regard to the chaos it creates in our lives, we feel the strain. There is pressure to live up to an impractical model, a superwomen type that can say "yes" to everyone, while still presenting herself “fresh as a daisy”, smiling that million dollar smile so big you wonder if her cheeks are going to cramp up. Happy to do for others, all the time, day in and day out, until…there is nothing left.
