Wm.Turman

I am a self-taught abstract expressionist artist. My influences include Mark Tobey, Jackson Pollack and Willem de Kooning. My literary influences are the Beat Generation, especially William S. Burroughs. Musical influences are Tom Waits, John Coltrane, the Violent Femmes, R.E.M. and everything in-between! I was a military brat, moving 15 times in my first 19 years of life and spending seven of those in Germany. I consider myself of the South, but have lived on the East Coast since 1990. I studied Journalism and Photography but have degrees in Social Studies, German, Secondary Education, and Special Education. I went to Sam Houston State University (TX), Middle TN State University, and Indiana University of PA.
