DaShawn Smith A.K.A Young Shawn
DaShawn is an aspiring rap artist who was born in New York City, raised in Harlem,the youngest of 4 siblings.Shawn has no fear when it comes to competition. He won first place in his first contest in the 6th grade. Two years laterin the eighth grade he won second place in Career Academy school talent show. One year later he won first place at Graphic Communication Arts High School. That same year 2006 he performed at the Black Theater in Harlem taking second place winner with a group called the Eastside Goonz. In2006 while in Miami he promoted his craft by passing out mix tapes. Shawn spent most of 2007 promoting and advertising his skills on mix tapes. He performed a hit single at the Black Theatre in Harlem called “Brawling” with the Eastside Goons” in 2008. He traveled with faith to Albany and got the opportunity to perform at Sneaky Pete’s Club and Skyline. He has performed throughout Harlem since 2004.This year 2009,he got thechance to pay tribute to Michael Jackson at 106 and Park.Shawn appeared at the UMA (Urban Music Awards) alongside his uncle Wesley J. Autrey Sr. (NYC Subway Hero). He supported John Cena at his movie premier.
