  Since 1989, Susan has prepared for opening her very own education program, first as a Para-professional, public school teacher, then to direct a Day Care Center and finally working her way up to becoming an Assistant Principal within a school of NYC Department Of Education.

   

  Along the way Susan became certified as a NYS School Administrator and Supervisor with 5 licenses, NYS School District Administrator, She also possess from the Department Of Health Permanent Certification in Early Intervention, NYS Permanent License in Special Education, NYS Permanent License in Common Branches (Pre-K, Kindergarten and Grades 1-6), Completed 125 Hours Alcoholism Certification, NYS Certified Health and Safety Trainer, and a Workshop and Business Opportunity graduate (WIBO).

   

  Susan has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from York College, Masters of Science in Special Education and a Professional Diploma in School Administration and Supervision from Queens College.

   

  Susan also is an Educational Therapist/Evaluator for the Susan Samuel Services Inc. South Ozone Park, New York.  Susan provides educational training and technical assistance to individuals that are interested in starting their own child care centers, renewing their license, and providing educational support.   

   

  She is very active in her professional and local communities Susan is the co-chair of the Child Care/Head Start sub-committee in conjunction with The Greater Allen AME Cathedral and The Jamaica Community Partnership Initiative (CPI) that deals with foster care issues within the community, a member of ACQC/HIV awareness network of Queens NY and a board member of the women and children sub-committee, A board member of  South Ozone Park Community Development, A member of the Federation For Family Unification and Preservation -Susan heads’ the Educational committee.

   

   Professional Association Of Day Care Directors/NYC, NAEYC- National Association of Education for Young Children,  Kiwanis Club,  and the Association for Mininority Enterprise of New York (AMENY).

   

  “Reach one teach one”, this is a philosophy that Susan strongly believes in; “To empower the family”. In order to make this dream a reality it is imperative that the community cooperate in order to place 24hrs child care learning center in every borough. This would allow parents the freedom to further their education, improve their Socio-economic status, and have me time!
