    Yusef Miller, Playwright. In 2006, Yusef decided to suspend his acting career to pursue Playwriting. Accepted as a Lila Acheson Wallace Playwright Fellow at The Juilliard School, his efforts were coaxed into reality. As a Juilliard student, Yusef was nurtured under mentors Marsha Norman and Christopher Durang. In 2007, he was awarded the Le Comte Du Nouy Prize for Excellence in Playwriting. In 2008, Yusef was awarded the inaugurated Frederick Fellowship, designed to subsidize emerging Houstonian Playwrights for an entire year. Plays: The Master Shepherd(s) of Hokybrok: 2009 Nomination for the Weissberger Award; 2009, Staged Reading, Co-Sponsored by The Classical Theatre of Harlem and The Ford Foundation’s Future Classics Reading; 2008 Lincoln Center Theater Directors’ Lab; 2008 semi-finalist in Reverie Production’s Next Generation Playwriting Contest.
