Emily Carding is a self-taught artist and author, as well as a Priestess, lyricist, actor, singer and mother! Her inspiration comes from the vibrant mythology of all cultures and the reality of magick and the Otherworld. It is for this reason that she considers herself not a fantasy artist, but a visionary artist, for her art is sourced from the truth and beauty of the inner realms. Her art has appeared on book covers and magazines, and she has fully illustrated a book on Norse Mythology, which should hopefully appear later this year. "Both Sides of Heaven", an anthology soon to be released by Avalonia Books features an essay by Emily as well as artwork, including the cover. Emily is becoming most well known for her tarot work, having now created three Tarot decks, with an Oracle deck on its way! These include the groundbreaking Transparent Tarot and the forthcoming Tarot of the Sidhe, a channeled work, which is currently available as a majors only collector's edition. She is currently working on The Transparent Oracle for Schiffer Books. A circular transparent deck inspired by the seven directions and the intricate interconnectivity of the universe and otherworld, it is designed to form mandala-type images when read in layers! The Transparent Oracle and accompanying book will be released in the summer of 2010. An amazing artist, with amazing ideas. We want to know everything about this fantastic transparent tarot! The Way of the Old Land - conversation with the Pagan Federation Portugal Coordenator Isobel Andrade

    Isobel Andrade

Isobel Andrade was born in Lisbon. From her early youth she was in touch with the world of Portuguese fortune-tellers and wise women. When she was eleven she met an Arabian magus in Morocco while on a cruise with her grandmother. Her interest in the arts of divination was more deeply aroused. As a teenager she pursued both regular studies and the practice of Witchcraft and card readings to friends and family. Isobel developed a strong interest in cartomancy and became known by the Portuguese media as the youngest fortune-teller in Portugal. After the revolution in April 1974 Portugal became open to new influences from other cultures and between the age of 16 to 19 years old Isobel moved to Spiritualism, Raja Yoga, Luciferianism, and Brazilian Candomblé, but didn’t find her personal path in these. In 1979 John Lowett introduced her to Lois and Wilfred Bourne and she became acquainted with the appropriate name for what she was searching: Wicca. Isobel started exploring that world, meeting Lady Sheba in 1987, but kept in touch with GB and practicing Wicca without neglecting her Lusitanian ancestry, to which she dedicated several years of study and research. In 1996 Isobel and Jose were invited by Tony Kemp to become joint Pagan Federation Coordinators for Portugal, Spain and Brazil, and together they started to develop the project of an international Pagan Federation. In the following years they fought for the dignity and recognition of Paganism in their country. A remarkable women with a touch of what is most ancient in the hands of a Wise One. Stay with us and be prepared to be taken into the Old World Magic and Witchcraft. Stay tuned! You don't want to miss this one.
