Become A Travel Agent - How To Become A Travel Agent

Many of my online followers, clients, contemporaries
and customers don't know that I'm also a travel agent.

I first become interested in being a travel agent when
I heard a speaker in the recordings from a seminar in
the late 80's say that he was a travel agent.  What he
actually said on stage was that he paid about 1/3 of
the rate that most of the people in the seminar room
had probably paid to stay in the SAME hotel, in the SAME
    quality of room.

That speaker went on to explain that he got those rates
as a "professional courtesy" just because he told the
reservationist that he was a travel agent and asked for
    a discount.

Incidentally, I bought the recordings of that seminar
on Ebay around 2003, and I discovered that the information
marketing industry worked the same then as it does now and
they sold a lot of the same types of products. The only
difference is that now more of it is internet oriented.

VERY little has changed over the years in the info
    marketing industry.

I went ahead and became a travel agent, and remained
one for several reasons.   I also enrolled my wife as
    a travel agent.

    Here's why I'm a travel agent.

    1) Convenience For My Customers

I run several sites that talk about conferences,
tournaments, travel, etc.  On those sites I conveniently
provide a link to my travel booking site. My customers
can tap into the same airline booking engine used by
the major travel sites, and my rates are often the
    same... sometimes even lower.

My customers can tap into the hotel.com network, where
they get guaranteed lowest rates, and I earn a commission.

My customers can also tap into a variety of products
and services, even shop online at Walmart, florist, for
clothes or concert tickets, and I earn a commission.

I make it VERY convenient for visitors to many of my
sites to shop, and to get some incredible prices.

    2) Lucrative Commissions

Each time a customer clicks on a link and makes a
purchase, I earn a commission. It doesn't matter whether
    it's to rent a car, reserve a t-time on a golf course,
or send a client some fresh lobster, I earn a commission
from these sales and they add up.

    3) Big Discounts On My Personal Travel

These us to be called "Fam Trips" short for Familiarization
Trips.  Now they are called something else but it's the
    same things.

Cruise lines, major resorts, ancient castles, even tourism
industries in certain countries, aa want professionals in
the travel industry to actually visit their facilities, and
then go back and write up reviews, and recommend them to
their customers. So, they make huge discounts, often far
more than 50% off, available to travel professionals.

When you think about it, it doesn't really cost a
cruise line anything extra to offer those 20 unfilled cabins
to a major travel company at a huge discount.  It doesn't
cost anything extra for a major tourist attraction to
offer unused beach-side cabanas to travel agents.  So they
    do.

I actually plan on doing a LOT more leisure travel in the
future, and you can bet that I'll partly decided where to
go and when based upon special made available through the
    company that I'm with :-)

    Anyway...

If you'd like to know more about the business side of what
I do as a travel agent. Watch the short videos here:

If you need to book a flight, a cruise, a rental car, hotel
reservations, or just to shop for unusual gifts, visit here:

Be sure to bookmark that last url and visit often.  When
you need a last minute graduation or anniversary gift, this
is where you should start your shopping.  when you want to
send a Christmas gift to one of your best customers, or
to your top affiliates, this is the place to start :-)

If you are STUCK looking for something to market online,
travel is growing faster than anything I can think of.
All of those baby-boomers are traveling more, and so are
their kids, many of whom are also reaching retirement age!

is where you can learn how to profit from being a travel
    agent.

If you didn't previously know that I was a travel agent,
the reason is that I don't have to work very hard at it.
I have some VERY loyal customers who book all of their
travel-related needs through me, and I get checks every
    month :-)

    Willie
