It is written: "For the desire of money is the root of all evil, which while some lusted after they erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows" (I Timothy 6:10).
Many within the congregation today have wrongfully presumed that money is not only good to have, as a disciple of Yeshua, but that it is also to be desired as a means to an end. The common saying goes, "Well, how else does God expect us to do His ministry without money?"
Where do I start? To assume He needs our money for His ministry when He is the Creator is laughable to say the least. Most importantly, to go against Scriptural truth in any area of interest in life is most contradictory and will bring Yehovah's wrath. Ultimately...It is written: "For we brought nothing into the world, and it is certain, that we can carry nothing out"..."Ye cannot serve God and riches" (James 6:7; Matthew 6:24).
Yehovah is very specific when He references money, wealth, and worldly riches; all of which are biblically condemned. We must really understand what the Scriptures say about this serious issue so it does not become a deadly compromise that we make. Join me as we discover what the Scriptures say about the desire of money...Shalom!
It's good to talk.
