    Why are there so many successful women without spouses? A common conception is that men can’t handle a successful woman that is independent. Women who earn incomes higher than men or with better occupations attest that men are incapable of dealing with a less superior role in a relationship. Therefore this ultimately leads to these women having less choice’s in men and they are forced to choose men with equal or higher incomes and status for mates. Another argument has been introduce by men that attempts to counter successful women’s reason for not being able to maintain a spouse in a relationship. Men attest that successful women are too independent and commonly possess qualities that are similar to men due to them being breadwinners and so driven to excel in their respective professions. These qualities often clash with men’s natural nature of independence due to them being too closely aligned with their actions. Base on these opinions the question was posed “Do successful independent women have manlike qualities’? Do these qualities hinder independent women from maintaining a successful relationship?
