Thaddeus Tuffentsamer was born in Minneapolis Minnesota in 1969.  At one year old, his family moved to Los Angeles California where they lived for seven years.  At eight years old, they moved back to Minneapolis and four years later at the age of twelve, they moved again to Rapid City South Dakota.  At sixteen years old they moved again to another large, metropolitan city.  (After that he just gave up keeping track!)

While attending school at Laura Ingles Wilder elementary school in MPLS, MN, he was invited to take part in a writing workshop hosted by his school.  A children’s author Mr. Stanley Keisel, who was just soon to publish his second novel, “The War Between the Pitiful Teachers and the Splendid Kids.” , hosted a workshop with the group of children.  Given a journal and told to finish the sentence, “If I were an old teddy bear, I would…”
