Zen emerges from the vast 2,500 year old religion of Buddhism. From our original Indian teacher, Shakyamuni Buddha ("the one who woke up"), Zen Buddhism has been passed down through many generations of practitioners - Myoyu studied for over twenty years with Taizan Maezumi Roshi at the Zen Center of Los Angeles. In 1978, she was ordained as a Buddhist monk and in 1995 Maezumi Roshi gave her shiho (Dharma transmission), authorizing her to become a Zen teacher. Come listen learn & ask questions.
