Join Host Jaclyn Roessel, Board of directors’ member and treasurer of Whisper n Thunder, and our guests in a dialogue on Diabetes in Indian Country. Diabetes is a disease that affects the body's ability to produce or respond to insulin. Diabetes is a chronic disease that has no cure.
Prevalence of type 2 diabetes among Native Americans in the United States is 12.2% for those over 19 years of age. One tribe in Arizona has the highest rate of diabetes in the world. About 50% of the tribe between the ages of 30 and 64 have diabetes.

We hope to open up the discussion on diabetes and provide listeners with useful tools to help in the prevention.
