Leading by Example

Our host Russ Letica, member of the Board of Directors with Whisper n Thunder,  will be joined this week by Chief Trish Bernard from the Madawaska Maliseet First Nation in New Brunswick, Canada. She became Chief by acclamation during the nomination stage of the elections and on August 26 there will be elections taking place for two counselors.

She is a strong Wolastoqiyik woman whose vision for her community includes one “where members can trust that the leaders and decision makers are providing fair, transparent and accountable decisions. “  She has stated that, "Our First Nation prides itself on dealing in positive good faith relationships. We don't forget the past and we don't forget how we came to be who we are, but we also really focused on moving forward."
