Host Rebecca Blalog will talk and discuss Pow Wows and the Dance Culture. 

Rebecca Balog is an advocate within the anti-violence movement within Indian Country and the United States.  Her current position is at the Women of Color Network, a project of the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence.  She has dedicated years to anti-violence work, social change, and the restoration of sovereignty for tribal women.   She is born and raised in Pennsylvania and Oglala Sioux, Mohawk, and Czechoslovakian descent. Rebecca is Vice President of Whisper n Thunder, Inc. and chair of the EREZ Emergency Reservations Services Project. Rebecca is a fancy Shawl dancer, Northern Traditional Dancer and occasional women’s grass dancer for specials (or switch dances for fun!). She is the mother of two young boys who grass dancer but began with tiny tot boy’s traditional. 

Larry Yazzie will also join the discussion.  Larry Yazzie: (Meskwaki/Dine) is a World Champion Fancy Dancer who consistently takes top honors at American Indian powwows in the United States and Canada. In 1995, he won the World Championship for the Northern Style Fancy Dance. As a performer, Larry has toured the United States, Canada, and Europe.
