  For me, writing is all about hearing from a reader who was entertained. Maybe they didn't adore it, or maybe they thought it was over the top, but if they enjoyed their time reading it, that is what makes it worthwhile. Knowing I can make someone laugh, cry, smile, or swear through my writing really makes my day.

  When I wrote my first book, I was uncertain of how well I'd done or whether anyone would enjoy my work. I was lost in the e-publishing world--I didn't know about distribution, or loops or that I needed a website. Out of the blue, my publisher sent a note a reader had sent her. 'I hope Ms. Knight writes many more books because this [Impatient Passion] is one of the best romances I've ever read--and I read a lot of romances.' I think I cried for a good few minutes and glowed the rest of the week. That one note gave me encouragement to continue writing.

  I'm paranormal romance author, Tabitha Shay. I want to say there's nothing more important to me as an author than to hear from a reader or a fan. I wonder if the readers and fans out there have any idea just how special they are. Without them, an author would be nothing...So, Thank You Readers, for making all those lonely hours an author spends alone creating, worthwhile....

  I've been writing for more years than I'd like to admit to. My purest enjoyment comes from readers who enjoy my books. The greatest compliment a reader can give an author is to say, "You kept me up all night, reading your book!" Writing without an audience is like painting a picture when no one will ever see it. It might work for some, but even those of us who HAVE to write need someone to read our work.
