    Save the Baby Seals

Join us together with our guest, the founder of HarpSeals.org Ian Robichaud for an educational and enlightening discussion about the looming slaughter of another 300,000 baby seals.

Every year Canadian fishermen shoot, bludgeon and skin over 300,000 baby seals; many spend hours dying in their own blood. Many are skinned alive.

This is an industrial hunt by the Canadian government and pushed by the Canadian Seafood Corporations. Fishermen earn only 5% of their income this way; the other 95% is earned while over fishing and depleting the N Atlantic oceans without regard to sustainability and while totally ignoring their direct impact on the complete collapse of the Cod stocks just a few year ago. These fishermen use the baby seals as their scapegoats; an excuse to slaughter hundreds of thousands of baby seals, in one of the world most horrific practices of pardoned criminal cruelty.

Learn how to help stop this cruel hunt.

Hosted by Katia Louise assisted by Amanda Daniel, with Diva Vega live in the chat room as the Coordinator for Simulcast Discussions.

Help spread the word to save the seals.

Paul Watson, native to Canada and a lifelong activist; is the world’s most influential person in the anti- sealing campaign. Sea Shepherd has been fighting sealers since 1975, and over the course of a quarter of a century they have saved hundreds of thousands of seals from slaughter using many different and creative methods. Sea Shepherd's highly-publicized efforts have helped in creating awareness, which is the first step in enacting change.

A Poem for the Seals We lay on ice flows soft and white. The sun is shining oh what a sight!
Our hearts are happy, joyful and gay. We greet each morning with Love to Stay.
One day there is a change of mood. It last awhile, where Sad and Blue.
These things come in and break the ice. Our hearts are racing we are in Fright!
We know not why, they have appeared. But life will change, confusion near.
It's early morning when pain appears. Blood spills all over, death is here.
Most will leave, never to come back. We miss their faces, their Love we lack.
It's quiet now, red stains run near. We don't understand, what happened here.
As I lay on a ice flow once agan. I pray that this Hatred would come to an end!
Lord is Watching these Acts of Cruel. Someone will pay, for this is his Rule!
So Every Spring when Life's in Bloom. Once again, all Darkness Looms!

In Memory of All Seals -Pipper Lea
