My name is Diana Boone, and what follows is my life story. it's been said that every life is a journey, an exploration, and a sense of discovery.Things are shaped by the paths we choose, but also by those paths that are chosen for us. Sometimes these paths are clear, and somstimes they are shrouded with foggy mists. These mists are the things that keep us from seeing the truth_ These are life's secrets. Sometimes we walk with our heads held high, and sometimes we stumble through the darkness. As we go on this journey, we meet other people, and their actions affect us in many ways. But some of that journey is inward, and much of this is controlled by the outward paths we choose. Sometimes these paths are smooth, like a newborn baby's skin. Sometimes they are rough' like a craggy road. Sometimes we come to a dead end and have to start over. And sometimes roadblocks are deliberately set in our way. That's what happened in my life. I grew up in a time of roadblocks and obstacles that society set in my way. This was not unique to just me. Growing up black in the Jim Crow South made it like this. But other things, secret things from unexpected sources, were also placed before me. These things were family secrets, and it has take me most of my life to fine out the truth about them.
