Westchester On the Level

A midweek review of issues that impact Yonkers.... The concerns are state approval of the Yonkers Federation of Teachers contract with the Yonkers Board of Education vis-a-vis $17 million in funding that must be approved by NY State by January 17th; the Collins Phase 3 request for approval of a structure three times what was originally approved; the investigation over the Aqueduct Raceway development project being investigated by the feds that likely will embroil Yonkers Assemblymember Shelley Mayer; Yonkers City Council approval of Parks and Recreation Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, respectively Yvette Hartfield and Steve Sansone;  a review of issues pending follow up by Yonkers City Hall; the political contenders quietly making the run for office from their opaque saltmine, and our revealing their hiding places; and mostly our wondering, "Why?"
