Chinese philosophy uses the Yin/Yang Symbol as a way to symbolize the opposing yet interconnected and complimentary forces in the natural world. In terms of our wellbeing, perhaps we can look to a similar dynamic of what Jungian Analysts consider the Masculine and Feminine sides to our psyche.
We seem to live in a culture dominated by the masculine qualities of thinking, doing, controlling and accumulating. While all these qualities are necessary, are they unbalanced with the feminine energies of feeling, sensing, being and stillness?
Could an imbalance leave us burnt out, disconnected and disillusioned? Perhaps those challenges are calls to reconnect and restore the feminine in our lives?
