Better yet, what are they NOT doing, NOT eating and NOT drinking.  What are we feeding into and letting get under our skin or into our 'sytstem'.  To medicate or NOT to medicate.  How necessary is it to take prescribed medications to alleviate, heal or even prevent illness.  One medication can heal you and hurt you at the same time.  I'm finding out .... probably the hard way, not only do I need to do the research... self discipline and a good reality check on taking better care of my mind, body and spiritual health is a full time job and responsibility I can't simply rely on a doctor's diagnose or prescribed medication.  Listening to health care professionals and experiencing a gamut of this and that... we learn to balance our truths with what works for us and what's not working for us.  You wanna live or die? Be bitter or happy?  You wanna worry or laugh?  You wanna be healthy or shorten your lifespan by years?  01:05:00Coloring the Up Side of Fear PurplenoHealth and Wellness Lifestyle, natural medicine, healing,Herbal medicine,Love as a healerPharmaceutical Sales is a billion dollar industry. "Thank You For Your Service..."  will be on SNL this nite along with another favorite artist, Dave Chappelle.  Artists of the old school... nu skool who continue to build and push progressive and original thought within their work... I'm excitied to see them on SNL and must mention it in relation.. as a quest we all have for our tribes to collect... and gather to get up some more to do what we are called to do... righteously. In the meanwhile, back at the ranch..... on Galveston Island, Texas, located at 4917 Broadway is a long standing and successful business owned by the Medellin family.  Most especially, headed by Melinda Medellin... a beautiful and hard working woman who is a Galveston native.  The restaurant is a local favorite with Mexican dishes with breakfast and lunch menus to suit diverse tastes.  The business has been a thriving business for more than a decade which is a success by any business owner's standards when a service or product consistenly is in demand by the general public.  Congratulations to the Medellin family for years of hard work and building a space where people can gather and continue to speak of Bronco Burrito among the best... a definite go-to place for anyone visiting the island or those on the mainland and surrounding areas who have only heard of the goodness but have yet to try.   Have a great Saturday night live.... and see you soon.       00:36:00Coloring the Up Side of Fear PurplenoBronco Burrito,Hispanic Women in Business,Galveston Island Women in Business,Quest for Tribe,Historic Times in Elections & Electric RelaxationMy "g" light is on, and that means GO. ~ Waxing poetics & shoutin' out to thriving businesses in 15 minutes more or less...SNL: promotional episode... features small biz of women.http://www.blogtalkradio.com/welcomematt6/2016/11/06/snl-promotional-episode-features-small-biz-of-womenLifestylehttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/welcomematt6/2016/11/06/snl-promotional-episode-features-small-biz-of-women/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/welcomematt6/2016/11/06/snl-promotional-episode-features-small-biz-of-womenSun, 06 Nov 2016 03:30:00 GMTSNL: promotional episode... features small biz of women. As I'm taking some time to relax, relate and re-up for myself.  I'd like to showcase some successful business owners who happen to be women.  I know plenty and don't know where to begin.  First and foremost, its the weekend before a hugely important election.  Please get out and vote on this coming Super Tuesday, November 8th.  Our local governments and local businesses are key to a successful and progressive community.  The first business owner who comes to mind, from my community is Tammy Gary... part owner of a legendary club in West Texas City, Texas known as The Front Door Club.  The Front Door Club has a legendary reputation in the community for not only being a place where fun and memories can be shared throughout the town and abroad... but also totes a fine history of giving back to the community with donations and scholarships for college bound kids.  Hosting annual toy/bicycle drives for less fortunate families and just recently, hosting a fun and safe alternative gig for trick or treaters this Halloween.  The Front Door Club, touts a great reputation for charity work in the community with its Front Door Social and Charity Club which is the foundation and part of the reason, original owner, Fats Gary opened the doors as a dance club and bar over 40 years ago.  Its still stands today at 6106 Texas Avenue on the main drag in a small Texas town with great history.  Congratulations to the Gary Family for maintaining a successful business with Tammy @ the head, for more than 40 years.  A place where many have had great stories to tell and memories to make.  Whether you dig a club scene or not, we ought to celebrate business owners who successfully give back to the community &  pull a crowd consistently providing a service & consistently promoting charitable events within our small but great town.       00:22:00Coloring the Up Side of Fear PurplenoWest Texas City,The Front Door Club,Charity,Women in Business,Successful women of Color in BusinessPromotional photos and spotlights of successful business owners small and large."Touch- Down": the intimacies & necessities of the non-touch; At what point of inflection do we gather together at the table as brothers and sisters as ONE to help aide and overcome anything that we draw concern over as a collective... and how do we in compassion and good humility... embrace changes that indeed affect us all. We can come together and build in so many ways.  Heal, love and learn from each other.  Some folk live in pain or painful circumstances and become tolerant of it and just decide that change takes too much effort or we don't deserve to go back to the drawing board...with out own stuff and keep building or start over. You get what you get and don't throw a fit!  While somewhat true... striving to do better and get better, reach higher and live our best lives is a prayer I have for each of us.  As families, as friends,  lovers... as communities we know the truth of a thing but will avoid it to make things easier but  are unconsciously and maybe even in good conscious breaking our foundations.  Destroying our connections and messin' with the evolution of US...   Is it too much to be concerned with the Air we drink, Water we breathe, and the pretense we protray to the outter world that we are okay emotionally, financially, physically and even spiritually?  Thinkin' on the Myth of the Black Superwoman in personal research of my own.  I come from some strong women, but we all need love, tenderness... truth & to communicate those truths adequately in accoutability for what we act like we know.  For our health, for our families, in love and to live the best life we can live.  Appreciation & Awareness. 00:51:00Coloring the Up Side of Fear PurplenoAppreciation Goes A Long Way,Clean Air Act,Must be something in the water,Processed Foods and our Heart/Mind,Sugar BabiesEverything but the kitchen sink in this episode. Donuts for Dads vs Muffins for Moms at schools, from my own experiences show and prove who is showing up and where we stand in our family roles.  I'm not excluded from the signs of the times.  I have seen more Dads, Auntees & Grandmas be more present and aware than Moms.  There is no judgement there, but a discussion to be had.  And what about the basics?  Self Care, Home Training, Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, Gardening, Cooking... self knowledge & awareness?  Teaching a child how to fish?  What about that?  What we know of us isn't @ the school nor is it an Educator's job to be everything they miss at home.  Educators are underpaid, overworked and a lot of the time under recognized for the work they do especially in intercity 'hoods.  Home schoolin' a normal curriculum... Public vs Private, always a healthy and worthy discussion.  A little mix of music, some hope, some faith and a whole lotta love in 45 minutes or less...for now, until later... Welcome Back Kotter!  00:50:00Coloring the Up Side of Fear PurpleyesMuffins for Moms,Donuts for Dads,Chaperoning a School Dance,Volunteering at your kid's school,PTO at your child's schoolHow involved am I, at my child's school?
