As the snow was beginning to melt in the spring of 1877, Joseph E, Wilshire arrived in what is now known as Oak Glen. He immediately fell in love with the land soon there after he and friend name F.B. Meek aquired a 160 acre parcel from Joseph Headrick for $50.
