Executive Director, Junior Achievers a non-profit organization focuses her skills and talents to enhance the lives of those disenfranchised and forgotten. This champion of human rights has created and implemented some of the following...Community Drug Program, Crime and Alcohol Prevention and Intervention, Health and Job Fairs, Town Hall meetings focusing on HIV/AIDS, Violence Prevention and worked beside Houston Works, Les Caves and John Garvey to promote jobs for more than 20,000 teens at the George R Brown Convention Center until funding was terminated.

    In 1992, Sandra Massie Hines received Congratulations for being nominated recipient of the President's Annual Point of Light Award from President George Bush Sr. She has worked and walked with local, national and international figures.With each step she is defending the poor, the elderly, children, disenfranchised, homeless, those shunned by society, and persons of diverse culture.     During the term of our 42nd President of the United States William Jefferson Clinton, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee contacted Sandra Massie Hines to pray for the president as he faced impeachment, and she did.

    Sandra was one of twenty Black American Women in Houston , chosen to meet with 100 women from various African countries, Nigeria , Togo and others to share information concerning the "similarities and differences" as they develop into womanhood.

    Professor James H. Cone is the Charles A. Briggs Distinguished Professor of Systematic Theology at Union Theological Seminary. Dr. Cone is an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He is the author of eleven books and over 150 articles and has lectured at more than 1,000 universities and community organizations throughout the United States, Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

    Dr. Cone is best known for his ground breaking works, BLACK THEOLOGY & BLACK POWER (1969) and A BLACK THEOLOGY OF LIBERATION (1970); he is also the author of the highly acclaimed GOD OF THE OPPRESSED (1975), and of MARTIN & MALCOLM & AMERICA: A DREAM OR A NIGHTMARE? (1991); all of which have been translated into nine languages. His most recent publication is RISKS OF FAITH (1999). His research and teaching are in Christian theology, with special attention to black theology and the theologies of Africa, Asia, and Latin America, as well as twentieth century European-American theologies. Dr. Cone has also written on faith and music in THE SPIRITUAL AND THE BLUES: AN INTERPRETATION. His current research focuses on THE CROSS AND THE LYNCHING TREE, exploring the relationship between the two theologically.

    Dr. Obery M. Hendricks, Jr. is among the most radical and innovative biblical scholars in America. The Dictionary of Biblical Interpretation calls his work "the boldest post-colonial writing ever seen in Western biblical studies." His study, "The Problem with Gospel Music Today," has been anthologized as one of "the greatest writings on the music of the African American church in the last century."

    "[E]ssential reading for Americans” is what Jon Meacham, the managing editor of Newsweek, wrote in The Washington Post about Hendricks’ latest book, The Politics of Jesus. Social critic Michael Eric Dyson calls it "an instant classic" that "immediately thrusts Hendricks into the front ranks of American religious thinkers." His novel, Living Water, was chosen as Best Christian Fiction of 2003 by Black Issues Book Review.

    A widely sought speaker, lecturer, and media commentator, Hendricks is a featured writer for Faithfuldemocrats.com and Godspolitics.com. He is a member of the Faith Advisory Council for the Democratic National Committee and an Ordained Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

    A former Wall Street investment executive and past president of Payne Theological Seminary, the oldest African American theological seminary in the United States, Hendricks is currently Professor of Biblical Interpretation at New York Theological Seminary. He holds the Master of Divinity with academic honors from Princeton Theological Seminary and both the M.A. and Ph.D. in Religions of Late Antiquity from Princeton University. He is a principal commentator in The Oxford Annotated Bible, one of the most widely used academic study Bibles in the English-speaking world, and a contributing editor to The Encyclopedia of Politics and Religion.
