Program Description: Last week, Senator Harry Reid and the Democrats in the Senate altered the Senate rules whereby a filibuster could be stopped with a mere 51 votes. This change in this long-standing rule of the Senate has devasting consequences upon how the Senate, and by extension, our government will function in the future. In this broadcast we examine how our founders, mainly James Madison, approached this knotty problem of the oppression of a minority viewpoint by the majority.
