Speaker, consultant, researcher, writer on psychological aspects of people at work, and author of The Psychological Recession, Dr. Judith Bardwick describes how people feel beaten down, vulnerable, and feeling a loss of control of events around them. After two decades of layoffs, lost pensions, and outsourcing, about half of all employees have lost faith and commitment in their employers. These people no longer trust their employers or their elected leaders. Without mutual trust and respect, Judith Bardwick points out that it becomes impossible to solve problems or build a future oriented relationship. Mistrust and lack of respect she says, only create cynicism in a system that people no longer see as a fair meritocracy. With feelings more than four times more powerful than facts, according to Dr. Bardwick, the depressing economic news has created a psychological recession. Judith Bardwickoffers a way pout through rediscovering spirit, values, and history, to overcome this malaise.
