Find A Job: Using the Law of Attraction for The Search for a Job in America Today

    Hello again,

I haven't written in a little while and I have an update - I got laid off from my day job.  Now, you didn't come here to read about me, per se.  Instead, you are here to find information that will be value added in your own search for a job (I assume, otherwise you probably didn't seek and find this article.)  I have information of extreme value to you.  Whether you are in a job hunt from the perspective of a job you hate, or whether you are the current victim of the debacle du jour - "Recession 2008" this information can help.  Let's all make T-shirts and wear them proudly, because when this is over and when you are back in a job, or doing what you love, you are going to be a stronger person for having gone through it all, and you ought to tell others.  Proudly wear a shirt, or a badge, or a sign that says, "I Survived Debacle Du Jour - Recession 2008."

Here is somethings I have thought about and pondered about that I hope will be of use to you.  Keep the following in mind:  If you are in a job you hate, then you are clearly on the right path now because you are looking to improve your situation or you wouldn't be searching for a job.  If you are fired, have quit, got laid off, or somehow all of the above apply to you, then you need to, right now (after you read this article) get on your knees, if you are a praying person, or at least have the following in your heart, "Thank GOD that I am now free to pursue the rest of my life!"  I look at it this way because really there aren't too many times in your life when an opportunity such as this will be given to you.  This truly is an opportunity - you now have a choice to make: do you return to doing what you were doing and continue on the path you are on, or do you make a change?  If you willing stay on the same path, then good for you.  Chances are you like what you do, and who you are, and now you simply need to put it all back together and get that income stream flowing again.

If you are like 80% of workers (according to a recent poll) and didn't like what you were doing anyway, NOW is the time to make the choice to do the thing that will fulfill you and help you to live your destiny.  The fact is the universe has just blessed you with a rare, and golden opportunity to fix what may have been wrong.  Maybe you need to go and get some more, or different, training.  Maybe you just need to start to do the work that you have always wanted to do but were stuck in the "good is the enemy of great" dilema first identified by Jim Collins in his book, Good to Great.  If you have a good job, you won't go get a great job. So good is the enemy to great.  If you are now finding yourself out of work, you no longer have a "good" job.  Go get a great job.

You are wondering how to do this.  I can feel it.  You are asking this question because if you knew how to get a great job already, you would have gone to get it already.  We live in a wonderful time - we know more about the Law of Attraction than any people ever before living in world history.  We know more about the fact that you literally materialize the thoughts in your head.  You either do it intentionally and beneficially, or you do it by default and you live with the results, come what may.  I suggest to you that your current job status is also a by-product of this Law of Attraction and the fact that thoughts become things, as Michael Dooley has said.  You may not like to hear it, but you attracted the current state of affairs as it pertains to your job status.  I'm not saying you did it intentionally, necessarilly, but make no mistake, you did it.  There is some good news here too - what you are currently experiencing is the aggregate of what you were, and not what you are.  How about them apples?!  The fact is, your circumstances are the aggregate of thoughts you were thinking up to this point.  Now that things are the way they are, you get to choose new thoughts, the aggregate of which will bring to you a new (and presumably better) set of circumstances.  This is precisely how you are going to be getting you new, GREAT job - thinking the thoughts and feeling the feelings necessary to invoke the Law of Attraction.

Let me give you an idea to accompany your job search, or your search for what to do next: invoke the Law of Attraction to your benefit.  I want you to daily, take at least a few minutes, and no more than 10 minutes, and do absolutely nothing except sit quietly in a darkened or segregated room and I want you to meditate.  Meditate on the OUTCOME of your next situation.  Please be careful - this can be a loaded gun in the hands of the untrained, so follow these guidelines:

    1. First, make sure you are only doing this ONCE each day and not multiple times each day.  If you are doing this more than once, you are going to become prone to day-dreaming, and the world you will be thinking about will be decidedly better than the world in which you live.  If you are doing this exercise more than once a day, then you are setting up a situation where you will be continually disappointed as you switch from your day dreams to reality and I promise you, depression will set in as you consider the justaposition between your dreams and reality.  You will want to spend waaaaay too much time in that dream world and you will ultimately get so depressed and upset about this set up that you will quit altogether this meditation exercise and that is not what needs to happen.  That is exactly opposite of what is needed here.
    2. Second, focus focus focus on the outcome.  Be careful not to put shackles and boundaries on the universe (the provider of the good that you are about to receive) by dictating HOW things should be done.  See yourself walking the halls of a beautiful office building, or sitting in the corner office or flying that airplane, or talking on the radio, or whatever is your dream, but be careful not to think too much about HOW this is all meant to happen.  The "how" of the situation will kill the situation.  If you are invoking the Law of Attraction, then the universe knows the shortest and most convenient path between where you are and where you want to be and rest assured, the universe will take you there - don't shackle the universe by indicating that it has to be this way or that way.  Let the universe do the work and you will be very happy with the results.  Truly, the goal is happiness in your work anyway, is it not?  The universe will give to you what you want, and you will be pleasantly surprised with the results, and possibly even realize that you had never even considered the way you got there...that is, until it actually happened the way it did.
    3. Consider putting together a vision board, or a scrap book of the things you want.  As you focus on the outcome of what is wanted, then the vision board (a collection of pictures of the things you are wanting) will help focus your mind on that desired outcome.  The universe will take care of the how, while you focus on the what.  Here is the trick: focus clearly on what you want without telling the universe how you want it done.  There is a fine line, and you can think of it like this - indicate what you want in detail, for example you can say, "I want to be a record promoter for XYZ record label."  You can leave it at that and avoid saying something to the effect of, "first, I will need so and so to contact me, and then I will need to have them buy me a plane ticket to Los Angeles to meet with the big whigs, and then I need to have a limo pick me up and take me there."  Focus on the detailed desired outcome and leave it at that.
    4. FEEL the feelings of that outcome.  Truly if you only did this step of FEEL THE FEELINGS then you can ignore all other steps.  The step of feeling the feelings is so powerful, that it really does not matter what else is going on.  Let me make another example for you; remember earlier in this article that I indicated that you had drawn to yourself the circumstances you currently endure?  This is because of the feelings you felt over time.  Honestly, examine your life and be real with yourself and you will see that I am right about this.  Those feelings that you felt over and over and in which you locked into your heart, whether good feelings or bad (probably bad which is why you are needing a new job) have brought to you the circumstances you currently endure.  Now, you can choose a new set of feelings.  Do the meditation, build the vision board, focus on the outcome, and then FEEL THE FEELINGS that are definitely there.  If you go through all of the other steps and don't feel the feelings, I can tell you right now you are wasting your time.

The universe is the entity that will provide for you the next situation you want.  Whether you want a job, or to stay at home with an income, or to go back to school, or whatever, it is the universe that will be delivering it to you and NOT some other person or thing.  Remember this important piece.  You may be sending a resume to Bill Johnson, but Bill Johnson will not be delivering to you the job.  The universe is the delivering entity.  Focus your energy on the universe and the universe will do the rest.

Clearly you have some work to do on your own as well with regard to getting that next situation to line up.  I will write again and give you some pointers of how you are going to help the universe do the work for you.  Like teamwork in volleyball, the strategy on the offense is to Bump, Set, then Spike.  I'm going to show you how to bump and then set, and then the universe is going to Spike for you.  I promise you that you will want to see that one because that is where the rubber meets the road.  Until then, God bless, and God speed.  Focus on the outcome, with feeling, and ignore the "how" and I promise you that the universe will deliver.  I can also promise you that if you don't do this, you will also have an outcome, it just may not be the outcome you were hoping for.  Life was meant to be abundant and full of joy.  Don't wait any longer to get the joy from life and live the life of abundance you were always meant to live.

I would love to hear from you regarding this issue.  Write back to me and let me know your thoughts, and we can discuss further.  Take care.
