    Meet our Guests:
    Mike Cox
    – An elected member of the Texas Institute of Letters, Mike Cox is the author of fourteen non-fiction books including ‘Historic Photos of Texas Lawmen’. Over a freelance career of more than forty years, he has written hundreds of articles and essays for a wide variety of publications. His most recent book, The Texas Rangers: Wearing the Cinco Peso, 1821-1900, received excellent reviews and has been a best-seller among books about the Old West. A former award-winning reporter, he was a longtime spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety and later communications manager for the Texas Department of Transportation before retiring in 2007.

    William R. Chemerka – Co-author of ‘Music of the Alamo: From 19th Century Ballads to Big-Screen Soundtracks’, William is the founder of The Alamo Society and has edited the organization's quarterly, The Alamo Journal, since 1986. He has appeared on The History Channel as an on-camera consultant in productions including The Real West: The Battle of the Alamo; Live from Austin: Davy Crockett; and Wild West Tech: The Alamo, among others. Texas Monthly calls Chemerka "the Google of Alamo Buffs."

    Allen J. Wiener - Co-author of ‘Music of the Alamo: From 19th Century Ballads to Big-Screen Soundtracks’, Allen is also the author of The Beatles: The Ultimate Recording Guide; and co-author of the forthcoming Poor Man’s Friend: David Crockett in Congress, from bright Sky Press. He has written for The Washington Post, People, American History, The Alamo Journal, Western Clippings, Goldmine, and Discoveries. Wiener has written liner notes for several CDs and has served as a researcher and consultant for several books.

    - Authors of 'Historic Photos of The White House', together they have written & edited several books and articles including Franklin County Virginia, 1786-1986: A Bicentennial History. Emily has BS and MA degrees in psychology and history, respectively. She is senior copy editor in the Publications and Educational Services division at the Library of Virginia in Richmond, and coeditor of The Hornbook of Virginia History. John has BA and MA degrees in American history. A former archivist at the Library of Virginia, he is retired from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, where he was staff historian and wrote the Official Virginia Civil War Battlefield Guide.     Jay Stephen Whitney - Author of 'Historic Photos of Ronald Reagan', Jay Stephen Whitney began his publishing career as a teenage intern reporter at Athol Daily News in his native Massachusetts, the highlight of which was cover a re-election campaign stop of Edward W. Brooke. Whitney earned a degree in communication at DePauw University, working on Senator Richard G. Lugar’s 1976 campaign during that time. He studied law at Western New England College where he met his wife, Cathy Okrent, an attorney and author. Whitney is currently writing
