Getting kicked out of the school choir at age seven would have been devastating for most young girls who aspire to be recording artists, but for Vassy it was a testament to her unique and uncompromising style. A true artistic free spirit, Vassy was more interested in mixing it up and “doing her own thing” than falling into the trap of being predictable.
