Our guest this week is Jacqueline Rhodes of the Center for Urban Families (CFUF). Since its founding in 1999, CFUF has remained at the front-line of addressing some of our city’s most pressing issues, including poverty, unemployment, father-absence and family disintegration. CFUF maintains an unwavering focus on addressing the key challenges of Baltimore’s urban families by working to connect fathers to their children, creating opportunities for economic and financial security through work, and providing access to other key interventions and supportive services.
Formally established in 2011, the Practitioners Leadership Institute (PLI) is a nationally focused initiative designed to provide Responsible Fatherhood, Workforce Development and Family Strengthening practitioners with experiences, skills and information that will strengthen their ability to improve outcomes for low-income fathers and families, impacting boys and men of color.

The PLI Academy, one program of PLI, is an eight-month (March-October), cohort-modeled fellowship program designed to assist nationally diverse field leaders in growing their network, leadership, expertise, and capacity in one or more of the following focus fields: Responsible Fatherhood, Family Strengthening, Workforce Development, and/or Boys and Men of Color. CFUF is currently seeking applicants for the third Cohort of the Academy, which will kick-off in March of 2015.
