Michele E. Castillo became a vegan in December 2007 after reading "Skinny Bitch" by Rory Freedman & Kim Barnouin. Since then, she has become involved in providing education & information to those who are interested in learning more about eating and living Vegan. She has also become an advocate for animal rights, determined to give a voice to those who have none. Her activism has included participating in PETA protests, PETA investigations into animal abuse, leafletting at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for Vegan Outreach, and helping to improve conditions at the animal shelter in Robeson County, NC., to name a few. She currently lives in Jacksonville, NC, with her husband Carlos Castillo and their six companions, Bear, Einstein, Misha, Gertie, Phoebe and Charlie. Five of which were rescues, both strays and shelters. Won't you come join us, after all there is no better gift than the gift of Helping Every Animal Live~
