(16:1-19:21) In Revelation 19 there is a definite change. Revelation 16-18 cover the Tribulation period but when we come to Rev. 19 we are moving out of this period. The scene now shifts from earth, where it has been since Rev. 6, to heaven. Remember that those chapters have shown to us God’s judgment on this sinful world. His fury began to be poured out when the Lord Jesus Christ, the rightful heir to the universe, received the title deed to the earth from His Father (5:1-14). As He opened the scroll and broke its seven seals, terrifying judgments struck the earth. The seal judgments were followed by the equally devastating trumpet and vial judgments, but now everything changes. Heaven rejoices because history is finally going to reach its culmination as the true King establishes His kingdom on earth. With this background, our subject for this is The King is Coming! I have divided this chapter into 3 divisions for the sake of clarity and comprehension. 01:05:00Walking Thru The WordnoSecond Coming of Christ,Revelation 19,King is ComingIn our study in the Book of Revelation we note it is divided into four sevens. There are the letters to the Seven Churches, then the Seven Seals, (6:1-8:5) theRevelation Revealed: Turn Out the Lights, The Party’s Over Revelation 18http://www.blogtalkradio.com/walking-through-the-word/2014/06/30/revelation-revealed-turn-out-the-lights-the-partys-over-revelation-18The Biblehttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/walking-through-the-word/2014/06/30/revelation-revealed-turn-out-the-lights-the-partys-over-revelation-18/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/walking-through-the-word/2014/06/30/revelation-revealed-turn-out-the-lights-the-partys-over-revelation-18Mon, 30 Jun 2014 00:30:00 GMTRevelation Revealed: Turn Out the Lights, The Party’s Over Revelation 18This title is take from the very popular Monday Football segment when Dandy Don Meredith, would sing “Turn out the lights, the party’s over.” He sang it when the game was no longer in doubt. It was fun times for MNF with the trio of Howard Cosell, Frank Gifford and Don Meredith. Part of the title is taken from verse 23, “And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee...” There is coming a day when the One who is the Light of the world, will turn out the lights of the world. The code name that is used here for the world is “Babylon.” In Biblical thought, Babylon represents several things: It represents a Place. The city of Babylon is mentioned more than 260 times in the Bible; more than any other city with the exception of Jerusalem. It represents a Power. The city of Babylon was the headquarters of one of the greatest kings who ever lived, Nebuchadnezzar. It represents a Philosophy. The first mention of Babel is found in Genesis 11. It was man’s first attempt to establish a kingdom, a state, a religion, a way of life and thought that totally excluded God. Babylon is a picture of the spiritual, moral, intellectual and philosophical rebellion of this world against God since the beginning of time. Nimrod, the ruler of the first Babylon, is a picture, of the antichrist who will rule over the last Babylon. In Revelation 17 we witnessed the fall of spiritual Babylon. Here in Revelation 18 we see the fall of political and economical Babylon. The Bible teaches that in the last days the economical and political sub-structure that holds this world together, will fall like a house of cards. 00:53:00Walking Thru The WordnoRevelation 18,Babylon,Revelation 17,AntichristThis title is take from the very popular Monday Football segment when Dandy Don Meredith, would sing “Turn out the lights, the party’s over.” He sang it when thRevelation Revealed: The Lady in Red - Revelation 17http://www.blogtalkradio.com/walking-through-the-word/2014/06/23/revelation-revealed-the-lady-in-red--revelation-17Christianityhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/walking-through-the-word/2014/06/23/revelation-revealed-the-lady-in-red--revelation-17/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/walking-through-the-word/2014/06/23/revelation-revealed-the-lady-in-red--revelation-17Mon, 23 Jun 2014 00:30:00 GMTRevelation Revealed: The Lady in Red - Revelation 17There is something fascinating about women, especially mysterious women. The title of the song is “Bad Moon Rising.” "Bad Moon Rising" has come to mean when something bad in the foreseeable future is about to happen. John Fogerty explained in a Rolling Stone magizine article, that the lyrics were inspired by a movie called The Devil And Daniel Webster, in which a hurricane wipes out most of a town. This is where he got the idea for the words “I feel the hurricane blowin’, I hope you’re quite prepared to die.” Overall, he said the song is about the “apocalypse that was going to be visited upon us.” In Revelation 16 we see God’s last judgment, “And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. “ (v.1)  The wrath of God is poured out upon this earth in seven bowls of judgment. With the pouring out of each bowl, the heat of God’s fury is intensified and the force of God’s judgment is magnified. No book in the Bible talks  more about heaven than the book of the Revelation. As we study the book of the Revelation you find that you are in constantly shifting scenes. One moment you are in heaven, the next minute you are on earth. In Revelation 4 we were raptured up to heaven. In Revelation 6 we returned back to earth. In Revelation 7 we were raptured to heaven. In Revelation 8 we returned back to earth. In Revelation 12 we were raptured to heaven. In Revelation 13 we returned back to earth. There is one major difference in the book of Revelation between heaven and earth. Heaven is a place of worship, earth is a place of wrath. Heaven is a place of joy, earth is a place of judgment. Heaven is a place of celebration, earth is a place of condemnation. In heaven the Lamb is crowned, on earth the Lamb is cursed. Heaven is filled with God’s glory. Earth is filled with man’s guilt. In every chapter we’ve studied we see the waves of God’s judgment beating more furiously against the dam of His mercy. The end is near. The time has come for God’s final judgment against a hell bound sinful world. What God started in the Garden of Eden He will finish at the Battle of Armageddon. Join host and Bible teacher James R. It’s as if the troops have come to a summit and they look at the summit around them and they look at the valley below where the battle is going to continue. In the first five verses we have been looking at Mount Sion. It’s as if the Holy Spirit, in the midst of all of the Great Tribulation activity has given us this pause in the battle on the earth and has given us a magnificent vision of Mount Sion. Looking at the valley below, to the things which are following, he gives us a series of pictures anticipating what will take place in Revelation 14:1-20 right on in to the 19th chapter. So you have a pause, anticipating the things that are going to take place. You will discover as you read through these verse in the remaining portion of Revelation 14 that we see a flurry of angelic activity. You will notice one angel after the other. You will notice the repetition of the statement, another angel, another angel, another angel. In ancient Greek dramas, it was impossible for them to stage everything that took place in the drama on their stages at that time. So when they would get to places that could not reasonably be portrayed on the stage, they would have a messenger. He was called an angel. The word, angel, means messenger. This angelic messenger would announce what was taking place in the drama. For instance, if the city was burned, the messenger would announce that the city had been burned. Or if there was a battle upon the sea, the messenger would announce that there was a battle on the sea. Then the drama would go forward. What you have in these verses is something similar to this. We have been talking about the devil, the Antichrist and the False Prophet. We have witnessed the depths of depravity as man abandons the one true God, to worship the devil through his false Christ. Now, we have a change of scenery! Our Lord gives us a breath of heavenly air in these verses. Only God can do that! Only God can take that which is horrible beyond words and turn it into a thing of glory. That is just what He does in these verses. In our passage we are allowed to get a little glimpse of divine glory. We are allowed to see the Lamb of God. He is the theme of the book and He is center stage in these verses. What a blessing it would be if we could figure out how to keep Jesus at the center of everything! In these verses we meet again the 144,000 Jewish evangelists who were saved and sealed in chapter 7. These men have preached the Gospel of the Kingdom during the darkest days of the Tribulation. They were persecuted by the Antichrist, but they were preserved by God. At some point during the Tribulation, when they have served their purpose, God will allow the 144,000 to be killed by Antichrist. These men will then join their Redeemer, the Lamb of God, in His glory in Heaven. We are going to that today. These men have endured a terrible storm here on the earth. His trinity, is anything but holy. The unholy trinity is composed of Satan, Antichrist and the False Prophet. Each person of the Godhead has a specific purpose. The Father receive the worship of His people through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is the facilitator of this worship. He stirs up worship in the hearts of the believer. As I mentioned, Satan is an imitator. His trinity functions in the same way. In the unholy trinity, Satan receives worship through the Antichrist and the False Prophet accelerates this worship. We have dealt extensively with the first two members of this unholy alliance. Today we will look at the False Prophet. It is through False Prophet that the world’s religions during the Great Tribulation will come together.Let’s look into and study the verses before us and notice the insights that Scripture give us concerning the False Prophet. 01:04:00Walking Thru The WordnoFalse Prophet,Revelation 13:11-18,Antichrist,Great TribulationThere is a Holy Trinity. The warning becomes reality. We are introduced to the Devil’s Messiah, Satan’s Superman, the Counterfeit Christ from hell, the devil incarnate. I see the currents of history are silently, but swiftly, carrying this world to one-world government and one-world ruler. Politics are greasing the skids and technology is opening the door for a final world-wide dictatorship that will take place prior to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. The world in which live is looking for a Superman who can deliver us from our mess. Today’s world is looking for a man, In the Financial Field: Some time ago a leading American financial critic made this statement, “What we need on Wall Street, today is a superman, somebody who has supernatural knowledge to help us out of the mess we are in.” In the Commercial Field: Words spoken by Henri Spaak, then secretary-general of the Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Paris 1957) have often been quoted. He said, “We do not want another committee, we have had too many already. What we want is man of sufficient stature to hold the allegiance of all people's and to lift us out of the economic morass into which we are sinking. Send us such a man and be he God or devil we will receive him.” Now in all these various ways the modern world is looking for a man.  Join host and Bible teacher James R. The Lord Jesus cannot lie. The current Good Friday tradition is a myth. In order to expose the current Good Friday tradition all we need to do is determine the actual YEAR, MONTH, DAY and HOUR of the Lord Jesus Christ death and burial. According to commonly accepted tradition, Jesus was crucified on Friday, dying at 3 PM and was raised from the dead Sunday morning. Why Do You Hate the Jews? - Revelation 12Why is there such an intense feeling of Anti-Semitism in the world? When I was a child, I use to hear my grandpa say that he hated the Jews. When he said it, he said it with such intensity. Why did my grandpa hate the Jews? Why is there a hatred for the Jewish race? When we read Revelation 12 we discover why.It shows that the hates and hurts of the Jew is actually by the prompting of the devil who hates all Jews! Revelation 12 is filled with powerful symbolism. Remember in 1:1, “And He sent and sign-ified it.” Christ made known his revelation to the Apostle John by symbols and our responsibility is to uncover the meaning of the symbols. Understanding the symbols of Rev 12 requires we understand that we are seeing Earthly scenes from Heavens point of view! We saw in Revelation 4, John was caught up to heaven and shown all the things that follow from Rev. 4-19. When you look at Earthly events from Heaven’s perspective, time is never a factor. The scene in Revelation 12 does not present a sequence or an ordered chronology. It presents occurrences arranged according to their meaning and importance, from a Heavenly eternal perspective.Events that may be widely separated in time may be clustered together in eternity's view. From Heavens’ perspective we are shown here what happens not when it happens. This is a chapter of Great Things.  Notice a “Great Wonder,” (12:1) “A Great Red Dragon.” (12:3) “Great Wrath.”  (12:12) and “two wings of a Great eagle.” (12:14). 01:04:00Walking Thru The WordnoRevelation 12,Jews,Anti-Semitism,hatredWhy is there such an intense feeling of Anti-Semitism in the world? When I was a child, I use to hear my grandpa say that he hated the Jews. When it is sounded, this trumpet will unleash God’s final acts of judgments upon the earth, which culminate in the establishment of Christ’s kingdom. The seventh trumpet will bring about a devastating wave of judgment. It will fulfill the ancient prophecies of Joel 2:1-2. When it is sounds, the seven bowl judgments are revealed. These bowls contain the final, awesome, awful judgments of God, Rev. 15:1. The sound of the seventh trumpet alerts the world that King Jesus is about to reclaim everything that belongs to Him. The seventh trumpet is sounded in Rev. 11:1, but the events it brings to pass are not recorded until we get to Rev 15. Chapters 12-14 are a restating of the Tribulation story from a different perspective. In Rev. 6-11, the focus has been on the Lord Jesus. We have learned about the process He uses to take possession of this earth. Rev. 12-14 takes the focus off the Lord and places in on the Antichrist. We have been observing the Tribulation from God’s perspective. For the next few chapters we will observe that awful period of time from Satan’s perspective. Let's witness Heaven’s reaction to the reign of the Lord Jesus and see the worship, praise and excitement in Heaven as time comes to an end. The words “great voices” translate the Greek words “mega” and “phonay”. We get the word “megaphone” from these words. It refers to shouting and loud speech. God is describing a pause in the action of the Great Tribulation as He takes care of some heavenly business. The 11th chapter is one of the more difficult chapters to interpret in the Book of Revelation. There are two facts to keep in mind as we look at these verses. We are standing on Jewish ground – The images and words are Jewish in nature. We are dealing with end-time events – The Book of Revelation details future events. Last week (Rev. 11:1, 2) we discussed that a new Jewish temple is in the preparation stages of being built in Jerusalem. The Jewish nation will consecrate a priesthood and they will offer animal sacrifices as dictated in Jewish Law. They will worship God under the old covenant, not recognizing that the Lord Jesus Christ shed His divine blood once for all to save the souls of lost humanity. C. Our next vision is the two witnesses. God sends two special ambassadors from Heaven to preach the Gospel message to the people of Jerusalem. It is the two heavenly visitors and their ministry we want to deal with today. I want share some insights from the passage concerning God’s Two Mighty Witnesses. 00:51:00Walking Thru The WordnoTwo Witnesses,Revelation 11,Great Tribulation,TempleWe are in the middle of a parenthetical portion of the Book of Revelation. As we speak the Jews have no temple! The most controversial piece of real estate in the entire world is Jerusalem. One of the hottest topics of debate concerns the holiest site in the entire world, the Temple Mount located in Jerusalem. As we speak the temple that now resides on the Temple Mount in Old Jerusalem is the Dome of the Rock. The Islamic shrine has stood on the Temple Mount since 691 A.D. The controversy between Jew and Muslim is the holy site. These demons came to the earth to torment all those who refused to bow to God. They tormented men for five long months and brought terrible suffering to the unsaved. The only grace in those verses to be found is that those who know the Lord Jesus as their Savior will be spared. It is also a blessing to know that those who are saved today will miss that terrible time because they are safe, at home in Heaven, with the Lord Jesus. As we continue to look at the events of chapter 9, we come to the sixth trumpet judgment. When that trumpet sounds a voice is heard to speak from between the horns of the golden altar. The mention of this altar reminds us of the golden altar of incense that was in the Old Testament Tabernacle. The golden altar was where incense was burned as an offering to God. It was the place of prayer; the place of intercession. It was a place of mercy, where prayers could be offered to the Lord. However now the place of mercy has become a place of judgment. When people reject the grace, mercy and love of God, they are left with nothing but His wrath and judgment. That is what we are going to see in these verses. The world has rejected grace and they are given judgment. I want us to consider the latter part of Revelation 9. What we have here is a picture of A Mad, Mad World. 00:58:00Walking Thru The WordnoRevelation 9,demons,sixth trumpet judgmentThe images depicted in this chapter make it one of the most disturbing passages in the entire Bible. In verses 1-12, we studied a description of a swarm of demoChanged By The Word: An Evening With Dr. Tim Prockhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/walking-through-the-word/2014/03/05/changed-by-the-word-an-evening-with-dr-tim-prockChristianityhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/walking-through-the-word/2014/03/05/changed-by-the-word-an-evening-with-dr-tim-prock/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/walking-through-the-word/2014/03/05/changed-by-the-word-an-evening-with-dr-tim-prockWed, 05 Mar 2014 01:00:00 GMTChanged By The Word: An Evening With Dr. Tim ProckDr. Tim Prock serves as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Collinsville, OK. Revelation 9 may be the most frightening of them all. We are in the midst of the seven trumpet judgments. The first four trumpets have been sounded and they brought forth horrible scenes of death and destruction. The earth’s environment has been shattered and mankind is writhing under the awful judgments of a holy God. Chapter 8 closes with an angel flying through Heaven pronouncing three “woes” upon the “inhabiters of the earth.” This angel knows that the plagues unleashed by the sounding of the last three trumpets will be far more horrible than anything we have witnessed yet. Why does the Lord give us these graphic descriptions of what the world will face during the Tribulation? These things are mentioned so the church will know what we have been saved from. It is exciting to know that God will deliver His people from this kind of judgment. He extends this glimpse of the future as a warning to those who have not trusted Jesus as their Savior. He wants them to know what they will face if they continue on in their sin and in their rejection. As we look to the judgment associated with the fifth trumpet, We are living in a day when the subject of Hell is viewed with much skepticism. People just don’t believe in a literal place of torment. Many preachers and church members reject the notion of Hell, as it is presented in the Bible. People joke about Hell and use the word as a byword in everyday language. But, these fact is, Hell is a real place! Real people are going to endure real torments for a real eternity in a real place called Hell. They can attempt to deny it is they wish, but Hell is still real. In these verses, Hell visits earth. I would like to take these verses and point out the terrible realities that will be visited upon the earth in the last days. 00:54:00Walking Thru The WordnoRevelation 9,Locust,Hell,Demons,trumpetsThe Book of Revelation contains some of the most frightening images in the entire Bible. The Lord Jesus took possession of the title deed to this planet in chapter 5. He began opening the seven seals of that title deed. He is beginning the process of redeeming this planet out of the hands of sin, sinners and Satan. We watched Jesus open six of the seven seals on the scroll. Before He did, there was a great peal of thunder in Heaven, Rev. 6:1.This thunder signaled the approaching storm of God’s divine wrath. As each seal was opened judgment and wrath began to be poured out upon the earth.I just want to remind you that we haven’t seen the worst of the suffering and sorrow that coming upon this world. After the seals, the seven trumpets will sound, and the seven bowls will be poured out upon the earth. As we move deeper into the heart of this book we are going to see death, judgment intensify. In Revelation 7 is a parenthetical passage that represents a pause in God’s plan to judge the earth. The first part of the storm has passed; the worst part lies unseen in the future.  In Revelation 7 our Lord extends grace to a select group of people right in the midst of the Tribulation Period. In Revelation 7 we have two groups: the first group is identified as the 144,000, or SEALED HEBREW MISSIONARIES in verses 1-8. For several reasons: God wants to show John worldly events from heaven’s perspective; only from heaven can John see as God sees. What did John see? His eyes saw first a throne…God’s throne… “a throne set in heaven.” “The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heaven,” (Psalm 103:19) John is at “command central” of the entire universe, and the central object in God’s entire universe is the “throne of God.” Revelation 4 has been called the “throne chapter” and for good reason. First, there is the HISTORICAL application. Smyrna was probably established by the Apostle Paul (Acts 19:10) on his third missionary journey. Also, Smyrna comes from the greek word which means "death". Second, there is the SPIRITUAL application . Smyrna was rich with temples and it was populated with splendid buildings whose symmetry at the foot of the mountain resulted in the name “crown of Smyrna.” Smyrna was the home to "Caesar worship" which was the leading cause of Christian persecution in that day and time. And then, there is the PROPHETICAL application. Smyrna represents the “Afflicted Church.” Most agree the Smyrna church period started around 100 A.D. continued through the death of Diocletian in 312 A.D. It was during this period the suffering for Christ reached its peak. Join host and bible teacher James Rice as he simplifies the Scripture while Walking Through the Word.
