Peering through the eyes of the early Christians, we look at this Psalm, not only as wisdom and poetry that touches the dark corners of the human soul, but as a prayer and declaration of peace in the midst of chaos.  When we don't know what is going on, or if we have lost our way, or even if our family and friends have deserted us, we find sleep and peace through God.
