Wake Up Call Show

Social issues, empowerment, and history with a concentration on black america and politics. Never Underesteimate the Power to Change Yourself. Never Overestimate the Power to Change Others "Any fool can make a rule, and any fool will mind it." - Henry David Thoreau I AM the Future & I will make a Change!

Show Notes

What shall we say when history asks how such crimes came to be committed in the name of America? Will we say that we stood silently by, shrugging our shoulders, filling our bellies, closing our eyes? Or will we be able to say: We saw. We dissented. We resisted. We condemned. - Chris Floyd, American journalist and political watchdog

The National Community Action Coalition (NCAC) is hosting a Unity Summit on 4th and 5th April 2008 in Augusta , Georgia . We would like to ask every organization, group, and church, clergy, individuals, religions, youth leaders, community activist, community leaders that have an interest in human rights, civil rights and minority interest to join the summit.  If you have faced an injustice and would like your voice to be heard join the summit.  If you are ready to train others and make a change in your community and this nation, join the summit.

NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITIES COLLECTIVELY BRING YOUR ORGANIZATIONS TO THE TABLE TO STRATIGIZE AND EMPOWER.  WE CAN BEGIN TO CLOSE THE DIVIDE BY CREATING A NATIONAL NETWORK AND UNITING.  WE HAVE MARCHED AND NOW WE NEED TO CONTINUE TO NETWORK, ORGANIZE, STRATIGIZE AND COLLECTIVELY BRING OUR PLANS AND GREAT MINDS TO THE TABLE TO FORM A NATIONAL NETWORK WILLING TO WORK TOGETHER TO CLOSE THE DIVIDE IN AMERICA AND RESPOND TO INJUSTICE.  THERE IS INJUSTICE EVERYWHERE, EVERYDAY.

We have called for an end to police brutality, racial profiling, abuse against children by the institutions that are suppose to protect them, negative media portrayal and unfair hate speech by radio, gang intervention, youth violence, bridging the elderly and the youth, building unity, stopping destruction of American rights, health disparities.  We are asking that you join us to address these issues strategically.  It is time that we come to the table and bring your teams, organizations, families, friends and unite and bring back the power to the people. Calling for all clergy who are interested in feeding the flock, the NAACP, SCLC, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and our community around the world that are interested in making a commitment to improve our quality of lives and standing for those who may not be able to stand.

Now we as a people with an interest in our families, schools, businesses, economy and livli-hood are hoping to see people of all race and culture and good moral consciousness find just two days out of busy schedule to support the people.  Hence, a nationwide movement is gaining momentum to stage a summit with speakers, a march, networking session and a banquet on April 4th-5th 2008.

Various Groups and organizations, families, individuals are working together stand together to put our heads together and network in a stand against Social, Judicial and Economic Injustice.  If you have been affected by any of this or not remember you can be at any time, you, your children, your grand children, friends and family. Come and share your stories and utilize the resource that will be available at that time.  Bring a written version and work with the organizations there to assist you in any form and fashion.  WE MUST CONTINE TO OVERCOME NOT INCARCERATE BUT EDUCATE.

      The Power is in YOU!

This was found in his diary , Dear God, I promise I will never waste my food no matter how bad it can taste and how full I may be. I pray that He will protect this little boy, guide and deliver him away from his misery. I pray that we will be more sensitive towards the world around us and not be blinded by our own selfish nature and interests. I hope this picture will always serve as a reminder to us that how fortunate we are and that we must never ever take things for granted.
