The Voice of Change welcomes guest Jerrigrace Lyons. Jerrigrace is a Minister, death midwife, educator, home funeral guide and Reiki Master. A nationally known visionary and pioneer in the arena of natural family-directed funerals, Jerrigrace founded Final Passages in 1995 to inform people about little known funeral options, home funeral rights and practicalities, green burial and the benefits of bringing funerals back into the home and family care.

Thanks to training in natural childbirth and home hospice care, Americans have begun to reclaim some of life’s most powerful experiences from ancient traditions and collective wisdom. Natural, family-directed home funerals are the newest element in this movement. The benefits of home funerals, wakes and in-home ceremonies are many, and yet they often remain out of the reach of individuals due to lack of information, misinformation or intimidation. Final Passages is a non-profit organization with the mission of informing individuals on how they can take charge and create a beautiful, personalized and ecologically sound home funeral. Now hundreds of families are returning to natural, sensible and affordable funeral arrangements in the comfort of their own homes.

Jerrigrace can be contacted through her website: www.FinalPassages.org    In addition, an excellent resource Jerrigrace would like families to know about is the book, Final Rights ...Reclaiming the American Way of Death by Lisa Carlson and Johua Slocum.
