Not all children who are hyper, have ADHD. But, unfortunately this diagnosis is given far more than it should be.

There can be a multitude of reasons for an overactive child.  A child who happy and full of energy is a normal state... but what about those who have other things going on?

Dr. Judy Cook, (psychiatrist) has a frank discussion today with Linda Forsythe on the importance of correct identification and early detection.

If normal child activity and ADHD are ruled out.... what else could it be?

There are a number of maladies that could be the culprit.  Many of them are easily taken care of. But, then there are the other types of diagnoses that require definitive action and care before it evolves into other serious problems.
