http://ThinkRichRadio.com Jesus’ fame as a peerless teacher & healer endures these 2000 years hence…
Numerous passages tell the marvels of this remarkable man, such as…
Great crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, maimed, blind, dumb, and many others, & they put them at his feet, & he healed them, so that the throng wondered, when they saw the dumb speaking, the maimed whole, the lame walking, & the blind seeing...(Mt.15.30-31)
But Jesus is identified as a God, so one might presume these remarkable powers a natural concomitant.
Not to worry, he transmitted that power to his followers, as in:
He called to him his 12 disciples & gave them authority ... to heal every disease & every infirmity. (Mt.10.1)
Saying, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons.” (Mt.10.7-8)
Further, he extended these marvelous powers to all who believe in him…
“These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; speak in new tongues; pick up serpents, & if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, & they will recover." (Mk.16.17-18)
And so it was.
Yet those who do apparently accomplish signs and wonders are soon or late found to be frauds and shysters… You’ve seen and heard of the TV and revival frauds. Then there’s the occasional story from rural church who, believing, handle snakes or drink poison. Death makes news.
