Derrick Ashong (DNA) is a Harvard graduate who has spoken and performed at events on five continents including prestigious institutions like Cambridge, MIT and Stanford. Prior to being the Host and Special Correspondent on Fusion TV, he appeared on CNN, BET, MTV Africa, NPR and BBC, as well as in the NY Times, Boston Globe and Fast Company. Derrick helmed the inaugural year of Al Jazeera English's cutting-edge, social media TV show The Stream, which was nominated for an Emmy. As the leader of the critically-acclaimed band Soulfège, he won the 2008 Billboard Songwriting Contest for Best Hip Hop Song.
